I think gradtitude mean that you are thank full for some thing that happend. for and example my great anunt was very sick and was strugeling and she past on but i was thankfull beacause she was no longer in so mutch pain.i think that lots of people at a point in life get gradtitude for some thing that had happend.
HB, I'm so glad that you are able to understand that though your Great Aunt is not with you anymore, she's not in pain anymore. That's so important. It sounds like you are very grateful for the memories and special times you had with her. That's wonderful!
Gratude means to me to give thanks and appreciations to other people. And to give not take and to be gratful to other people and don't always think about your self and help others thats what I think Gratitude means.
I agree with you, AE! It's so important not to take people we care about for granted, but to SHOW them how much we care about them. Helping others is extremely important and leads to great happiness. I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving week-end!
Gratitude to me means Thank you!For a exaple two years ago my uncle Rudy past away from lung canser.I was very sad but my dad told me that even though it was sad my uncle is not in pain any more!So I give God thanks for leting my Uncle Rudy not be in pain!And yes Gratitde is a synonym to thankfulness.
MK, your dad is a very thoughtful, deep, caring man. He gives you such good advice! I hate to think of people I care about being in pain. I hope you have wonderful memories of your Uncle Rudy. I bet you miss him. I have a friend Amber who died recently from cancer and I miss her a lot. Like your dad said though, she was in so much pain, and now she's not. I'm grateful for that.

When you are thankful you do not just think about the things you could have you think about the things that you do have. For an example thanksgiving is a holiday based on gratitude. Thats what I think about gratitude.

I agree, JW, about what you said about good etiquette! I SO appreciate it when people say thank you to me! It means so much more than what someone might think! I also just love it when I have prepared a meal and my family remembers to tell me they really liked it and to thank me for preparing it for them. So I fell that gratitude is a feel of thankfulness that is kind of why we celebrate thanksgiving it is a day when Plymouth wanted to celebrate because they got good crops so I bet that is what gratitude meant to them. Now back to me I feel that gratitude is a feeling of success that makes you feel really good and you know you have done something good and you have a time too celebrate all the good things you have done during thanksgiving a time to be with your family and friends. And have the feel of thankfulness.
