Describe your experience at the Naper Settlement. What stands out, what will you remember AND what did you learn? How did it connect to our history/social studies lessons from this year??
I had a really fun time at Naper Settelment. My experience was awesome because I learned so many things such as printers were actually peoople back in the 1800s. Also I learned that male bees don't sting have their and they don't have their stingers. I will definetly remember when a bee rammed into my head, that was funny.
Your comment about the bee ramming your head made me laugh out loud! I'm glad you learned a LOT, and I'm REALLY glad you didn't get stung by those crazy carpenter bees! The fort was certainly exciting because of them!
it was really fun at the naper settlement beacuse i learned about blacksmiths and how boys would stay home to work. i will remember the fort beacause it was realy fun beacuse everybody ran in and the bees made it more fun beacuse they did'nt sting and people were still scared. also one bee hit my leg.
The bees maybe didn't sting and all but they were scary when they where teclantly guirding the door out of the fort!!! I learned in the schoolhouse that the teachers could threaten to hit you with rulers also that 1st there 8th graders where in the same exact class all year!! That I thought was crazy. Naper settlement is something I would go to every year if I could, it was fun and FUNNY learning how it was back in the 1800's! I am most likely going to the reandactement this weekend. I hope I learn a lot about that too on my journey.
I will remember at the fort when there was a lot of bees. That the teacher was very mean so i'm glad i have you has my teacher. The we are very lucky we have the stuff we have now and we are very lucky we have you.
Rebecca, I agree that we are SO SO lucky to have all of the technology, books and other educational tools that we have now! I also think it's lucky that you kids don't have so many difficult chores to do all of the time! I do think it is important to have SOME chored for kids so they learn responsibility though! What do you think about that?
i liked the fort because there were abunch of friendly bees (other than the one that head butted brett)and i liekd the shcpool it made me feel rich cause i had better clothes than the teacher.
I liked the Naper Settlement a lot. I liked how we were treated like a kid back in the 1800's, and I love the wagon! The only part I didn’t like was the big bees. I learned that it was hard living back then it is now. I also learned that 1st through 8th grade students shared the same room and that you only had to go to school up to 8th grade. I also learned that girls can’t be blacksmith and that people back then where the printers.
I personally feel about the Naper Settlement it was fun too be treated like a 1800's child but i cant be treated like that everyday it was fun too learn about the 1800's in how it felt. also, i found out that u have to go to school up to 8 grade it was so fun
I liked going to the classroom and being with the teacher. i will always remeber that one the most becuase we got to interect and be treated like the poinerr children did.

ReplyDeleteI felt that the Naper Settlement was kind of boring because it was an educational feid trip and we had to follow the rules of the 1800's.
